Let it snow. Let it snow! Let it snow?

The snow has started to stick. It has taken awhile, but now that January has arrived, the weather has turned from cloudy to snowy.

Last year was terrible with the excessive amount of snow received across the country. This year, the snow has been on the lighter side. Regardless of the amount of snow we get, it is clear that you either love snow or you hate it.

There are many good reasons why people love snow. For the younger kids it means they have the opportunity to build snowmen or go sledding. For older kids it means time to ski down Mount Brighton or practice other outdoor sports.

“I like snow because you can do fun things like snowboarding and skiing,” senior Alicia Farmer said.

Snowing can cause a huge aggravation. An over excessive amount of snow could mean terrible road conditions, or days off school (on days inopportune). In addition, there are people who believe the snow is not beneficial.

“I like [snow] because it is fun to play with, but when school is going on and the school doesn’t consider late time because there is a lot of snow out in the road, it is not a lot of fun,” junior Anna Lin said.

There are many pros and cons for this weather situation. If you hate snow, don’t worry, because spring is two months away. If you love snow, take the time to enjoy it while it sticks to the ground. It may not last much longer.
