Scary Snowy Driving

Driving in cold, snowy weather conditions has always been hard for both new and experienced drivers. Since we were little, we have seen our parents or bus drivers driving slowly and cautiously every time it snowed. With the winter weather starting up in 2015, many Hartland High School drivers have experienced how hard it is to drive in these conditions. Teens have to struggle with the lack of driving experience as well as having to learn how to drive in snow. Whether it be the thought of crashing your car or just the scare of losing control of your car, many new drivers find a way to figure out how to drive in these conditions. Sometimes its not always the way they hoped they would learn.

“It was the scariest thing of my life,” senior Hunter Hawkins, who recently got in a car accident, said.

Car accidents are the harsh reality and risk you take when driving a car. Although feared by most people, car accidents help us gain the experience and knowledge of how to drive and what not to do next time.

“My advice to new teen drivers who are learning to drive in snowy weather is to just drive slow, and if you don't feel comfortable driving, have someone else drive for you,” Hawkins said.
